Canton Oil Pan on my F150

What do you guys think about this oil pan on my lowered f150? I figure it's gonna hang down an inch or two lower thank the stock one, its depth is 10.75 inches. I dont want it to be too low. Im considering it because it claims to be "stroker clearanced" and im building a 347. Just looking for some opinions

Might watch as it might not clear your suspension crossmember. The sump is lower, but the rest looks deeper too?

Pretty sure a stock pan will clear a 347 crank.

That pan is deep. The best way to know for sure is to measure from the base of the block to the top of the crossmember. If it does fit it'll be tight. You'll probably have to pull the engine to install it.I also think the OEM pan will fit a 347.

i was thinking the same thing about the crossmember, but its supposedly made to fit the 92 f150, so according to canton it will work. and the motor is already out the truck haha

Look closely at the application reference: "This rear sump truck pan is for 302 Fords in Ford 4WD Trucks and Vans."

I do not know of many people with lowered 4x4 trucks....

the crossmember is the same in 2wd and 4wds, im guessing that it says 4wd due to the sump being lower.

Also, i just measured, and the canton's sump is only about 1 3/4" lower than stock. So i figure it shouldnt be too low

You could get a Milodon windage tray and install kit for less than 100.00.No guessing,it'll fit in the stock pan and keep oil splash to a minimum.Or bolt the Canton to the block and lower it in to test fit it.No gasket/silicone until you're sure it fits. You could always send it back if you don't mark it up.

Strangely enough I NEVER believe anything the manufacturer tells you.

The sump is lower, but what about the rest? The front area can't be any lower and the picture they show surely looks lower.

About 10 yrs ago I bought a Canton windage tray for my 428 FE. I spent an entire evening cutting that things to shreds trying to make it clear my rotating assembly. Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh, come to find out it only fits 390 cranks(WTF??). The longer 428 arm is too much to clear the screen. WTH is up with that?? Why make it only fit a 390ci or smaller FE?? Who builds anything like that in a performance world?? I sent it back(less the nice stud kit) and used a FOMOCO factory windage tray(without an issue, bolts right on).

Seems now they finally got their stuff straight and they have them fit stuff now(especially with all the stroker cranks now).

Brains man, brains.

The Moroso deep pan on my race car(428) was okay. The deep pickup they offer isn't anywhere CLOSE to reaching the bottom of the sump. WTH??? I had to cut the brace, heat the tube and twist it longer by 1" or so to get it down near the bottom. Then weld the brace back up. Who thinks this crap up??
