2012 F250 keyless fob

2012 F250 keyless fob
I hate that the car manufacturers are creating integrated keys/fobs.
The latest IKT is nice, but what a pain.
Its way to big to fit comfortably in my pocket.
I would prefer a separate key and fob.
Ford makes the transponder key without the integrated key head, but they don't seem to make the fob without the key.
I have gone online and don't seem to be able to find anyone that makes just a fob that will work for the 2012.
I'm ok if the fob isn't able to remote start the truck like the IKT, but nobody seems to make even a 3-button version fob.
Do any of you know if a 2010 3-button fob will work for a 2012?
Thanks.
Steve.

Expensive
I thought of that too.
I can find one on the internet for $100, which is half the price that the dealer wants. Still, that's twice as much as the fob-only devices I've seen.
After posting here I found a 4-button programmable generic, at this site:
http://www.keylessride.com/order/quo...&frid=65910EBA
I'm going to contact them Monday morning to see if it will work.
Hopefully it will and that will save me $60.
Regards,
Steve.

No luck so far
Well, its been a couple of weeks, so here's the update.
I found what looked like the right fob at keylessride.com.
They confirmed and I ordered it. The instructions made no sense.
So I called and spoke to tech support, and it turned out they sent the wrong fob.
So, they sent me the 'correct' fob.
Turned out it was a 3-button, not a 4-button.
(Apparently their sales or tech people don't pay attention to what you actually tell them.)
Today I spoke to someone that seemed to know what she was talking about, and she said that there was no such thing as a 4-button fob-only for a 2012 F250.
So, I need to return both the fobs they sent me.

Almost forgot . . .
So I did more searching.
I found the following site:
ford remote instructions
This page has a lot of 4-button remote fobs for Ford vehicles.
None of which are an F250.
So I was wondering if any of them might actually work in an F250 even though they are not specifically designated for an F250.
Anyone know?
If not I think I will buy one and see if it works.
Comments?
Suggestions?
Thanks.

Cheapest IKT?
Meanwhile, I might just have to use the idea posted earlier and get an IKT and cut off the key part and use it like a fob.
If I'm going to do that, I want to find the cheapest cost for one of these things possible.
Here is a site that has them for $91.50.
Anyone know of a cheaper site?
Thanks.

This isnt directly related but may help ya out some to know.
The remote built into the key uses a extended range technology. (Same as viper alarm remotes) Dont know exactly what models but I know the viper 5704 system. The oem key reports thru the viper antenna. I can get around 500feet around buildings and such with it. Id say atleast 5x further than the stock range.
You MAY be able to program a viper keypad to work with the stock being the stock will work with a viper system. Might be something to look into.
