id of 302

supposely a 1989 mustang HO engine. heres what the guy gave me for the engine block # above the starter 5CWCP 4A

OR

it could be a C5WCP

Would this be an 89 HO ?

BTW it is a roller block and has E& heads which could have been installed later

Those numbers are meaningless. The roller blocks were used in ALL Ford/Merc cars and trucks that had a 5.0 from 1986-2001. Not just for the HO motor. The truck 5.0 used the same heads as the HO, your E7's are truck heads. The HO had a hotter roller cam than the trucks and full size cars. The only parts that set the HO apart were the upper intake, camshaft and pistons, plus the tubular manifolds. The casting numbers for an 89 roller block would be E6SE.

More likely it would be E7TE or E9TE.. the latter is what I have.
