I'm new

I recently aquired this truck, what is the first thing I do? It has the 460 and 4.10 rear end. 92k original miles. That is the 5 minutes in my driveway.

Nice looking truck!

The real question is what do you want to do with it?

I got it to really just got it to haul stuff around the house and tinker with. The problem I'm having is the truck doesn't have a ding on it and has been pampered. I bought it from my Grandfather who bought it from a friend to help him out. I guess I am just want clean looking 1989 f250 that will strike up a conversation when they see it. I think I am looking for the no brainer simple solutions to free modifications that will help with looks, gas milage and power.

First thing to do is a full fluid and filter change if you don't know when they've been done last, plus replace the belt(s). Next no brainer is to look into improved lights.

Which lights? All the lights work (all though there is a spider carcus caught in one of ther tailights). I bought a new serpentine belt today hopefully can do the fluids this week. Are there any secret tips or better fluids to use in the rear end/transfer case/transmission?<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>

Synthetics for all the gears, at least.

And that would be the headlights. Ones of that age are pretty much useless.

No, what oxidation didn't do, the sun's UV rays have done (in turning it yellow and opaque). Ford's choice of polycarbonate instead of acrylic paid off in the sense that these usually rarely break, but the downside is that the merciless sun will eventually render them useless and polishing them won't help.

Get rid of those ugly steps from the cab and the box. It'll look much cleaner.Had some on my 4x4 E150 and all they were good for was to help my feet slip when the steps were wet.

I want some for my truck. mine arn't bad, but they are not clear like they're supposed to be. But they are expansive. Over $100 each from what I have found. I haven't found just the headlight, its the whole headlight assembly including turning lenses.

BTW nice truck!! Wish mine started out like that. Lol

Those are coming off this week. I'm going to try to sell them, but they just may end up getting sold to the recycling yard.
