P-0605

After a new UVCH my truck runs great. Plenty of power, a smooth idle, and no CEL. I do have a P-0605 PCM ROM failure code stored. Does this mean that my PCM is going south? Or will I be ok? I wouldn't mind upgrading my PCM, but I want to do it when I'M ready, not when the truck decides to reach in to my wallet.

Clear it and see if it comes back. If it doesn't effect the running, I would ignore it........until you can't!

My truck has the same thing. Fords diag on it is to erase the code, run a KOEO self test, if code returns replace pcm. you could try getting yours reflashed. that is what I am going to do when I get the time. Other wise I do not know of any drivability issues but then mine poped up 2-3 months after I bought the truck. But now I am getting an IDM comunication code dont know if the 2 are related. If u start getting any IDM codes let me know.

I had an IDM code until I replaced the UVCH.

just did some searching and yes a P0605 is common with a tuner and NOT an issue. it will also come up after disconnecting batteries, changing fuses. I assume you disconnected the batteries when doing the UVHC. in any case clear it and you should be fine

Yes. The batteries were both disconnected. I'm at work today, so I'll have to check the codes tomorrow after I get off. Thanks for the info.
