Truck won't stay running-Please Help!

I have a 97 F-350 7.3L . recently it started having issues not wanting to stay running. It starts right up but dies after a couple minutes. I first replaced both batteries as they were needing replaced anyway but that didn't help. When I take it down the highway, it surges and acts like it wants to die. It always starts, but again, won't stay running. I just replaced the CPS and that didn't fix the problem either. Any help with my next step is appreciated! Thanks!

Few basics..

When was the last oil change?
Fresh fuel filter?
Where did you get the cps?
What is the fuel pressure?
Is the truck stock or have any mods?

The oil was last changed about 1000 miles ago, along with the fuel filter. The truck is only driven about 2000 miles a year, primarily to pull our camper in the summer. Since it does sit alot, I took the fuel filter off again and checked for debris and didn't find any. The truck was modified before I bought it with complete transmission maintenance and a larger torque converter. It also has a performance chip for towing, which I do use. I purchased the new CPS from a local CarQuest, although the "old" CPS was installed by my local Ford dealership last year after the recall. After doing some more research, I found that the ICP sensor is also a common problem. I unplugged the ICP sensor and the truck stayed running, although I didn't try to drive it with it unplugged. I ordered a new ICP sensor and it should be here today. I am hoping that will solve the problem! If not, I'm not sure where to go from there.

To answer other questions-427, I'm not sure exactly what the fuel pressure is when it's running. I tried to hook an AE up to it but couldn't get it to communicate-hoping it was a problem with my buddy's AE and not my truck, but couldn't get any readings. Fordpride, when it runs, it sounds fine. It starts right up, runs for about a minute then dies just like you shut the key off. While driving, the same thing-every minute or so, it acts just like you shut the key off and on-creating the "surging" described.

Its actually the ICP sensor. Mine went out it would normal for a minute, low and die. It was really tough to get started. I replaced with new oem icp and it works great.

Oops! Thanks olds, got that fixed in the post. I ordered mine from a local OReilly's, not sure if it's an oem. hopefully it fixes the problem. Was wondering-if I got a bad cps or icp off the shelf, would i have any way of knowing or would i have to roll the dice and buy new ones again?

i will do that thanks. I've heard it's a good idea to always have a spare in your truck anyway as they are notorious for going out.
