bed extender

Anyone think this will work, if not, anybody know where i can get one...been digging in ebay and c-list, but nothing for the 99-03 f250/350 beds...

I found one of these and it worked fine.
Bed Extender for 2004 F150

I was lucky enough to get it with the pivot hinges and plug inserts for the locking pins. Installation was straight forward, I just marked and drilled. The pivot hinges are designed to screw into threaded inserts. Since your truck won't have those inserts, you will have to fasten the pivot pins with a backside washer and nut. I removed the tail light to tighten the nuts.

The F150 bed extender is slightly undersized (not quite wide enough) but there is enough flex in the stainless tubing that you can stretch it to fit onto the pins.

I'll snap some pics when I get home so you can see how it looks.

Thanks for the info Greg. That sure makes it ALOT easier to finding one. Theres A TON of those here on c-list.

There are a few different sizes out there for the F150. One is quite narrow and won't work at all. The other is quite a bit longer and works great. Let me get you the dimensions so you can be sure to purchase the correct size. Hang tight...

Here are some pics.
You want to look for a bed extender about 59" wide when measured from outside to outside of the pivot brackets. Hope this helps.

Greg, thanks man for goin outta ur way to snap pics and post'n, put perspective to it now. Extender seems to be perfect. Need to pull trigger on one soon..thanks again bro!
