Would the PSD flex plate accept a C6 torque converter? If the torque converter bolt pattern on a C6 only fits the IDI flex plate, it wouldn't work cause the crankshaft bolt pattern on the IDIs are different than the PSDs. You would need a tc that bolts to the PSD flex plate and work in a C6. Is there a tc that would work?

I did do the sway into a 73 f250 and it was a lot of work and will not do it into.that frame again, to narrow steering is half *** and you have to weld a crossmember into the frame from a donor vehicle and I will tell the best route is to find a complete truck and but the body on it you want, I don't known how these 70 frames will handle 500rwhp but I will let you guys known how it handles the power cause I will have my injectors in a couple weeks but I don't think it will last cause my ranger frame has cracked with just an idi 7.3l if you need any info on doing the swap just pm me I can give you any info you need but I am going to build a 74 crew cab and going to put it on a powerstroke frame

and for the c6 question you can bolt the c6 to the powerstroke, just use a idi flywheel and flex plate and then use a idi starter, the gear on the flywheel for the statrter the idi sits on the tranny side of the flywheel and the powerstroke sits on the engine side, i have a idi 5 speed that i am going to bolt to the powerstroke on my crew cab build cause it is fully rebuild new syncro and bearings, the pcm you will have to run a manual pcm do to the e4od having the tr sensor and the truck idles funny at start up if it does not see what gear it is in, for a kick down i dont known how you would go about that besides a manual valve body

the 72 to 79 ranchero has no shock towers so it may fit in there if you want to go that way still.now i wont say it would be fun to get in there but would be fun to drive.(i has a 72 gt CJ 4 speed car)those car's are full frame so they would need a front sump pan also so there may be a problem.i'd say 80 or 81 maybe a few years past f100 would be your best bet.they had car bolt pattern for the wheels with a 9" rearend and are probably the lightest of those years.and thats when they started 6.9's into truck if i remember right early to mid 80's. and a c6 would hold up to alot but not sure as far as gear vendors as i've never ran one of those.
good luck
