I wanted to get an opinion from you guys in the Bumpside group...
There is an auction locally this weekend and the last time I went by the place there was a decent looking '72 bumpside at this location. I didn't stop, but from the road it looked to be an F-250 and looked pretty good. I'm pretty certain, knowing the guy who's having the auction, that this truck is drivable. I'm not in the market myself, but I would hate to see a nice bump get crushed if there was a chance to pass it on to somebody that wanted it. Depending on condition and drive train, of course, what is a reasonable price for a '72 F-250?
Also, they have what I think is a drivable '70 Mercury Cougar XR7 in the auction. Any idea of the value on that? (No, it isn't a Ford pick-up, but it's one cool car from Henry.)
Would need more info and pics possibly. But a good solid running f250 if put between $1500 and $3000. Of course if it's perfect or all original, etc it could be more.
Well, the auction was pretty much a bust. Low turn-out and very few of them spending any money. As far as I know right now, they still have the Cougar and both pick-ups. I was wrong, both are F-100s. One is a '67, the other is either a '71 or '72. Neither have engines in them, both still have the automatic transmissions in them. Both beds need new floors, but the rest of the body work seems pretty good on both of them. I got a better look at the '72 than the other. Cab is solid, floors looked good as did the cab mounts.
If anybody here is in need of parts/project truck let me know and I'll get you in contact with the owner. I might be able to get photos as well (didn't think to take a camera this morning.) I'm NOT the owner, and have no financial stake here, but I DO KNOW the owner. I just don't want to see these pick-ups crushed when I see so many people here looking for them.
