Also anyone recommend where to get the best price on a replacement HPOP? I see a remanufactured Bostech, and then there are the Ford ones. Are the Ford ones remaned or new?

I see I can get a remaned one with IPR for the price of a unit from ford.

Why would you be replacing a HPOP on an 06?

They RARELY fail.

 

Hard start cold. No start hot. Valve covers off, pressured tested no leaks in oil rails, gurgling back through oil filter.

 

if its comming back threw the oil filter then you headed the right way imo.
no new pumps are made so far as I know of. they are all reman. however if you buy from ford you get 12/12 warranty.
