I'm not sayng that these hollow core will work for every '56....a lot has to do with door alignment and particular care in glueing them in place correctly. Midfifty could not get them from their vendor for many months; I was on the waiting list and they actually called me when they came in last week. Good luck to all.

The 56's are notorious for leaking at the tops and down the front and back of the window area of the door. Proper door alignment within it's opening is the first step. I would almost bet if you had your doors off to install the new seals, you probably didn't get it positioned high enough. They really like to leak at the front edge, front top and rear top. That's the first thing to check. The second would be how that area fits the body with the doors closed. Does the door stick out from the body up around the window? I use a 2x4 or other sized wood blocks to place in the opened door jamb and carefully close the door putting extra pressure on the window area of the door that I'm trying to tweak back towards the body. We normally do this in the bodywork stage but with careful pushing here and there you can usually tweak it back where it needs to go.

Why is 60-70 mph that hard to do? My panel will do 80+ mph all day long

and get 28 MPG doing it.

I'm running the same gear and about the same size tire, but the double OD gears in my tranny gives me the mileage as well. At 80 in 6th my engine is running at just above a high idle.
