Doesn't necessarily need chrome but nice looking, clean engine bays are always nice...

clean indeed, wire tucks, just doing some organizing and dressing up. cheap **** that causes headaches and makes it look a bunch better.

i think anything besides grey or rust would look a ton better.

pop's had his engine painted up in silver and red(block) and dam did it look good. to bad we used the wrong type of paint and it rusted...

bwt don't use the 1200* paint to prevent rust lol

I was thinkin about building one of those DIY powder coating setups. But i dont remember how high its good for, so might not work anyway. a guy on B2.org made one and powdered all sorts of stuff with it and it all looked really good. Mine will proabably go black and red.

What kind of paint is good enough to last on an engine without rusting or chipping? I also don't mind braided steel lines to replace some fuel lines and stuff too. And like Mike said chrome does look good on steel lines. But that is about it as far as chrome goes.

any good enamel should i think, i mean it will burn off right at the exhaust ports, but the rest shouldn't get over 220*

yea this is true, but it doesn't reach that kind of temperature either.

i would like to have the full exhaust coated, but i really don't see a point in the block and heads :P
