Need to replace both front bumper and mounting brackets on my Highboy. What bumpers fit and what brackets. I understand the frame to be narrower on my truck, so I was not sure about the bumpers and brackets. I have a bumper off a 77 1/2 ton 2 wheel drive, will it work with different brackets? Any help would be appreciated.

 

Yes, the bumper will fit. as for brackets, are you meaning the ones that go on the bottom of the bumper and keep the fenders from flopping? I doubt they're the same. I had to make mine, I had some off the same year 1/2 ton and they wouldn't fit my 3/4.

 

I am speaking of the bumper mounting brackets. The brackets which mount to the frame rails to hold the bumper up where it should be. Thanks for the reply

 

Narrow frame rails have nothing to do with front bumpers. All 1965/79 F100/350's have the same width between the front frame rails.

All 1965/72 F100/350's / 1973/77 F250 4WD's (High Boys) / 1973/79 F350's on the 140" wheelbase have 33 1/2" wide inner rear frame rails...behind the cab.

All other 1973/79 F100/350's have 37 1/2" rear frame rails.

1964/77 F100/350 painted & chrome front bumpers are the same. The painted bumper (C4TZ-17757-C) is obsolete (1 available NOS). The chrome front bumper (C4TZ-17757-D) is reproduced.

1973/77 F250 4WD (High Boys) & F350:

D3TZ-17752-A .. Right Bumper Bracket / Obsolete

No Ford Dealer or obsolete parts vendor has any.

You'll need these brackets, or at least fabricate the same...

I think I may have a set of those floating around in the shop still somewhere. Tried briefly looking for them before but quickly gave up. I can have a real look again if you need. I think I sold the other set I had for $15.

 

Would they look like the brackets that Montana Highboy posted a link to? If so, yeah I would be interested in them if you can find them. Let me know! Everyone thanks for helping me out on this one. Thanks number for the info too!

 

So are the front bumpers and brackets on a 77 f-150 the same as my 73 f250 highboy? If so, i have all that here on a 77 right outside the shop.

 

The front bumper will work, but the 77 f-150 has the mounts integrated into the frame so you`ll still need the brackets from montanahighboy or ChaseTruck754.

ME TOO ! IVE BEEN WORKING ON THIS 77 HIGH BOY AND WENT TO PUT A 78 F250 2WD FRONT BUMPER ON AND NO DICE ! THE FRAME HORN DOES NOT HAVE HOLES, IT HAS HOLES ON THE SIDE OF THE FRAME FOR MOUNTING BRACKETS.HMMMMMMMMMM ...ANYBODY HAVE THESE OUT THERE?? (RICK 386 677 6699) FL.
