Exclamation lots of blow by

I bought an 08 f250 with the 6.4 powerstroke.....and I've read that they do have a little bit of blow by because the rings are set a little lose....before I bought the truck I checked all that and it did have a tiny bit of blow by......so I made them throw in a 1 year or 12 mile warranty. The truck had 130267 when I bought it.....I've put 2000 miles on the truck since and I checked the blow by again last night and its shooting up to the hood of the truck now...the warranty is bumper to bumper but what is ford going to say when I bring in? Will they replace the motor? Has anyone else had this problem or got a new motor under warranty?

Thanks for any help guys

I doubt a blow-by will result with any warranty claim.
Typical test is putting reversed oil cap on the hole and see if the gas will lift it.
That said, I can put a napkin on my oil hole and it will stay on it at idle.
7.3 l with almost 300k.

I am not sure that you have an issue here at all. Has something changed in the normal operation of the motor.

Are you have some driveability concerns?

Was the motor up to temps when you checked it both times?

No nothing has changed driving wise.....and at the dealer ship it wasn't at complete temp But I did take it around a few.blocks and then checked for blow by and there was just a little......now I checked it yesterday and now there is alot of blow by and it was at full temp....is Ford gonna want to do a consumption test? My biggest thing is that if something is really wrong are they gonna cover a new motor?

You indicated that you got a warranty with it. What is covered under the warranty? I would think whatever is covered will be listed.

I have no idea what kind of a test they would do other than a compression test.

Keep us posted as to what they say. Sounds like it would certainly be covered.

Alright so I tested the blow by with the cap and with it loose and just sitting over the hole it does push the cap up out of the hole....and with only about 2000 miles since my last oil change its already on the minimum on the oil dip stick so its burning alot of oil

Ok, when you checked the oil, did you let it sit for at least 30 min before checking? Also did you have a confirmed oil level beforehand?

How many miles on the motor? How many hours?

When. The oil was changed an I checked it it was on Max...and no I didn't let let sit. I checked with the cap then killed the truck and checked the oil.....it has 132,xxx miles...I'd have to check the hours later
