The chrome told me they don't need to be polished but just sanded to a 320-400 grit finish.

You need just one or one set?

I don't have a price yet I am waiting on a bill for the castings them selves yet and I don't know exactly what the chroming cost will be yet.

Here are a few pictures.

I will have to get back to you on that. But I did just get the bill for the castings and they are $60 a set (raw castings). I still don't know what chroming will cost yet.

That sanding and tune up of each part is taking a long time. The second one I sanded up I think took me around 6 hours.

I will make sure to write down everyone who wants a set and contact each one of you when I am ready.

Otherwise I do have an UPDATE:

Last Saturday I dropped off 2 sets of the F-100 emblems at the chrome shop. The third set I have I will try to finish it this upcoming weekend and mail them to him.

He said he should possibly have them done by the end of May but we will have to wait and see.

He gave me an estimate on the final cost for chroming but I will have to do a little number crunching but I know I can sell them for less than the $350 estimate I gave earlier.

I will update when I have a final figure. I was going to keep 1 of these 3 sets but I am now reconsidering on selling all three so I can pay to have more made, I will update when I have some answers.

Well I figured up a cost per set. I would like to get $250 per set. I hope everyone is fine with that.

I did get the last 2 emblems done and shipped out last week.

I also made some changes to the pattern yesterday so it is ready to run again to make more castings.

The following is a list of everyone who wants a set:

hawk1959
ckline7035
gridley dean (2 sets)
cbass139
dozerama
jenkinsj

please post and I will add you to the list.

Thanks everyone!!!

What does everyone think about mounting it.

It will either be double sided tape or a strong glue. My chrome guy suggested something like what they use to glue on quarter panels now days?

I tried the double sided tape on my old f100 emblems on an old set of spear like emblems. I just put 2 small ones on it (in the center of the seat for the f-100 emblem) but I think a guy could put 2 long ones top and bottom. I had pull and wiggle it back and forth to get it back off. I think the double sided tape would work fine I just don't know about what kind of life span it would have though.

The glue could be messy and hard to deal with in a future fix or replacement situation.

I am honestly thinking double sided tape.

Let me know what you guys think?

Well everyone I just paid for the finished 3 sets of F-100 emblems on Friday. They should be in the mail system I think and on their way to me as we speak. I can't wait to see them and also show everyone!!!!
