2008 F250 6.4 advice

Hi all - I'm looking to move to a 2008 F250 6.4 from my 03 Excursion. I found one which has everything I'm looking for but would love to get some advice and opinions on the OASIS report and the latest service work which was done at the selling dealer. The good news is the radiator and cooling system update has been done as well as the seat recall and the regen flash. Beyond that - I am a little surprised that a 43k mile truck would need some of the service work contained in the reports. Sorry for the smallish images but they scanned them in to email to me since I'm about an hour away.

I appreciate any and all feedback!

Picture of the truck:

OASIS report:

Service documentation: Beyond the extent of the work which was needed it mentioned an exhaust and an intake. I've asked if a tuner had been used - really hoping this thing hasn't been beat on too bad...

I don't see anything to be concerned about. Oil leaks, coolant leaks, AC, has nothing to due with the function of the engine. If you are happy with the asking price............go for it.

Wow, that is a fair list.

What got done about the dipstick rubbing almost through the EGR cooler?

I want to go look at mine now.

They actually replaced the dipstick tube as part of the overall repair. Definitely worth taking a look to make sure it is ok.

That is what I think as well- just wanted to see if anyone else saw any red flags I should be concerned about.

I would go with an extended warranty of some kind as you are new to the truck.

What he said. The Ford Power Stroke Diesel one I got from Ford has been awesome and easy to work with.

Yeah...that truck has had it's share of bad luck alright. But as stated above none of it is unheard of on these trucks, and as long as the work was done right you should have no worries.

You should still be under warranty, but not by much as it appears that the warranty start date was in May of 2007. With a cab-off engine removal you should have a 1-year, 12,000 mile warranty on the repair, but all other engine coverage is gone in May. I would highly recommend an extended warranty because of the high cost of fixing these things.

That readout is nearly a carbon copy of mine. Spend your money on tuning and deleting the thing , the truck and you will be happier.
