1990 F350 Crew Cab XLT Lariat EFI 460

Hi Guys I am rebuilding my engine and am looking at what is the best cam for it as it is EFI 460 but I read so many comments about speed density and MAF systems can someone tell me how I find out what system mine has also mine does not have an air box at all it has been removed when LPG was fitted here in Australia no one here seems to know anything about these trucks so I am on my own with this so this forum has been my only form of knowledge regarding these trucks so I am very greatful for any advice you can give me

I would imagine your truck is Speed Density. I haven't heard of many truck other then the 96-97 trucks (F250) going to California getting MAF. As for a cam you should be able to call Summit or any reputable company and tell them what you have, your plans for the truck etc and they could point you towards the best cam.

Thanks for replying after more read on this forum last night I read that only 97 and later came out with MAF so I guess mine would be speed density but mine has been converted to right hand drive here in Australia and fitted with LPG dual fuel so I thought maybe it had been changed but I also read that MAF Trucks had two Air Intake Tubes coming into One at the air box and mine does not have that so yes I am sure mine is Speed Density I hope this can clear up the question for others who are also not quite sure
Thanks again

Maybe go with what's called an RV cam - since most motorhomes have big blocks in them. I have a friend that has one on his 84 Chevy Dually with a 454. You really can't hear the cam when it cranks, but give it about 10 seconds after the engine idles down and you have a nice, mild cam. Then again, that truck is carburated, not sure how it would perform on a fuel injected engine.

Just a thought
