Pardon my ignorance but what's the difference between the one's in your picture and the ones you are looking for?
The ones in my picture are called Type 3.There is a thread on here with a diagram showing many different styles of mirrors offered and they are listed as types. The ones I had on the truck years ago(in the picture) are what I want also known as type 3 or they are also called 3 legged as well. Apparently, they had painted ones as well. And the ones from 67-72 brackets wont work for the 73-79 doors.
Exactly..Some of the people think they are so hard to come by they jack the prices to no end. I have missed pairs for 40-50 bucks. I wouldn't mind paying that for a set but I wont pa the $200 plus that people ask as my truck is needing alot of work and I would like to keep myself in a budget area. When I sell things, I try to help fellow enthusiasts out. If I have something I don't need,I make a good deal on things to help us both out. Been doing that for people on the Buick forum I'm on for years. That's why I have so many buddies and why I am liked I guess. The mirrors you have are exactly the type I am looking for. I am resto-fying my dad's original truck and that was the type his came with. because I am aiming for that look, that's why I want these mirrors.
Okay, I understand and your right. I ran across this thread while doing research. I haven't decided to keep mine or go to the breakaway mirrors from the 80's up. If I decide to sell, I'll let you know.
Thanks
