O ya about the black powder coat....the coating they use now is different than powder coating, I forgot what he called it but told me that it holds up better.

Well I found this handy little calculator that I think has helped me figure stuff out.
Wheel Offset Calculator

I believe my stock ford rims are 8" wide with +40 offset.

That means the Pro-comp wheel will stick out about 3" wider than my stock wheel, the DC-2 would stick out about 2.5" past stock, and the XD cranks would stick out about 2". I guess I need to fit up my fender flares and figure out exactly how far out they go now.

Ya I tried that, I have no clue on how that works. I put in my measurements and it gave me something like going to stick out 25.40 inches???
What size stock wheels you have? Mine are 17x7.5" .
I figured that I would have to buy Bushwacker Flares.

Ok I found out that all OEM 17 & 18" Super Duty wheels have an offset of +40. Now im thinking that the Pro Comp 18X9.5 Offset -19 Back Space 4.5" will stick out 3.5" or 89mm over stock wheels/tires.
Going to call Pro Comp later this week.

Keep in mind that the tire will be wider than the wheel. Be sure to add in that as well to get an accurate number.

Just to help, I have -12 offset with a 11" wide tire (295). My set up is 2" out in front and 1-1/2" out in the rear. These are from the upper fender well. I believe the stock offset is +40 for 05 up.

A side note. The -19 is perrrty wide. So be sure you want the extra wide look if you get them. Those put your tire's edge out 4-1/2 - 5" with a 12" wide tire. You'd need cutout flares to cover those.

There's no way a 9.5" wheel with 4.5" backspacing is going to stick out that far. My 12" wide wheels with 4.5" bs only stuck out 3.5" past the fender

Your wheel edge or tire edge? Did you measure your without a tire mounted to get that number?

I didnt do the math on the wheels. I was just pointing out that the tire is wider than the wheel, and to be prepared for the outter edge to be further out than he may think. That math isn't that far off though.

I'm in IL as well, the salt is the reason I opted to keep my stock wheels and tires. With what they cost, there's no way in hell I'm letting these wheels see salt.

Heres the tire sized I used 325/65/18, and the wheel size 18x9.5 -19mm offset 4.5 backspace. This is what I got Package will stick out 89 mm (3.5'') farther that my stock 265/70/17 17x7.5 OEM wheels with +40 offset and 5.8" backspace.
Does that sound right?
Question are the 325/65/18 the same as 35x12.50x18?

Not sure how you are coming up with those numbers. I put in your info and get 3.32" (84.4mm). You said your wheels are 7.5" wide, with +40 offset right? Then the Pro-Comps are 9.5" wide with -19 offset. Putting those numbers in for me gets 3.32" (84.4mm) of movement on the outside edge of the wheel.

I have the factory 20" wheels on my truck currently, which I believe are 8" wide with +40 offset. That's why I'm only getting 3.07" movement on mine (mine are already 0.25" further out because they are wider).

That works good for an estimate, but the best idea is just to go to the tire manufacturer's website and get the true measurements. They tend to round things pretty strange.

For example the tires I'm hoping to get are Toyo Open Country M/T LT315/70R18. That calculates out to a 35.4" diameter and 12.4" width. According to Toyo's website the tire is actually 35.7" tall and 13" wide.

Edit/
OK so I just thought of another way to figure this out. With the Pro-Comp wheels the centerline of the wheel is going to move outward 2.32" (40+19=59/25.4=2.32"). My factory tires (275/65R20 Goodyear Wrangler AT/S) are 11" wide, the Toyo M/T is 13" wide. That means the tire will stick out 1" wider on both sides. So theoretically my new wheel/tire combo should stick out about 3.32" wider than my current combo (2.32+1=3.32"). Does that sound right to anyone else?

The numbers all add up. Now you have to figure where your current setup measures to see how much past the fender the setup will be. For instance if your stock setup is 2" to the inside then the new setup will be past t the fenders 1-1/2" or so. The front end is wider than the rear by a 1/2" either side as well.

So I was looking to see if theres any law in Illinois about having your tires stick out, I cant find anything yet.....I would be installing Bushwacker flares and they cover 2" of the tire. So I would be having about 1.5" sticking out I dont know if thats going to be ok?
Maybe I should also install mudflaps?
Thanks ~Gage~
