Fuel reset

1988 F-250 Automatic 2 wdr Supercab.

Does this truck have a fuel reset button somewhere?

Ive got fuel coming up to the engine but it wont run.

When I dump gas right in the throttle body (take off the hose and squirt it in)it runs great until it runs out of gas.

It has me and 3 other Ford guys stumped?
Any ideas?

IIRC there is a fuel reset switch in either the drivers or passengers kick pannel.

Are your injectors firing?

That fuel reset switch would kill the fuel pump when tripped so I don't think that's your issue tho

Your right the pumps working you can hear it.
How can I tell if the injectors are firing?

No button on passengers side where I have seen them before.

The engine runs great with gas squirted in the throttle body so the injectors must be firing?

Have a read here, might find some good info.
As for testing the injectors I'm not positively sure but someone might chime in or you might find it in the link, there's a troubleshooting spot there

If it runs when you add fuel to the throttle body and wont run on its own then I doubt your fuel injectors are firing.

That's right this means your injectors aren't firing. The problem is most likely related to one of the distributor components or the wiring between it and the computer, so pull the codes to see what is stored first and if you get anything related to PIP, TFI, or Spout this diagnosis is confirmed.

Its running because your giving it the fuel it needs to run. If the injectors were firing you would already be getting the feul needed to run.

Yes on the safety wall by the parking brake.

If you are hearing both the pump in the selected tank and the one on the frame rail running then more than likely you have a computer problem.

The spark plugs burn the gas you dump in it, not the injectors.

Should be in the drivers kick panel.
We are talking about a gas truck in this thread are we not?
