71 F600 transmissonrefit question

The 71 F600 I picked up has some issues, and was wondering what options are for swapping it. It of course has the brake drum on the back, so does this make use of 4wd transmissions for anything newer? Have an idea, if I get ambitious, could swap it to a diesel I have, and have a 4wd as well as a 2wd trans available, but both of course do not have the parking brake drum on the back. Just wondering if they could potentially be refit for the parking brake. Both are T-19 transmissions.

cj06 is gaining momentum as a positive member of FTE.
what tranny came with your F600 ?
is it a 4spd or 5spd ?
the 5spd would be a clark , the 4spd would be NP435 as far as i know !
every 5spd we had in these trucks were the clark , and of the few that were 4spd they were the NP435 !

This one is 4 speed, kept trying to go for 5th which wasn't there... as in, it can't go into it. It has the 2 speed rear axle as well. Good to know it is an NP435, they will trade with the T-19 if need be, I also have a spare NP 435 now, just in an F250.

You might find the input shaft is larger on the F600 trans than on the PU truck trans.

Also, does the 2 speed work? Are you familiar with the 2 speed?

2 speed works fine, I have run them before. The truck drives nice, other than the trans has issues with 1st and 2nd.
