that's kind of my question... I think they are just copping out using any excuse because they were not the ones that did the HG job...

Basically they saw you worked on it and immediately thought you messed up the injector and said not warrantable. They have to call in the claim to Ford for approval and if an inspector comes to look at the truck they will see it was repaired by a non-Ford facility and deny the claim. Keep pushing to get it through, don't give up, it is your money they are spending to protect theirs. Plus, if labor is being paid the warranty time pays less.

Dealers can't do squat now to cars, miles are tracked electronically (on Sync systems), dealers are scared to make claims and if you have a problem child car they take forever to repair it. My 13 Fusion was in the shop for 2 months, finally I was able to get the dealer o contact a field engineer who looked over the case, blank checked the parts needed and the car was fixed in a week. Ford's warranty department was holding up the whole works.

Yep Sparky you're between a rock and a hard place.
Screwed by the dealer and screwed if you do it yourself.
Hands down the recent injectors that have been put in you should get your money back on the part. Doesn't matter if you put it in or not it's the part that's bad.

my permanent hole in life unfortunately...

7 wasnt replaced by me... I left that one under the assumption it was still good.. only changed 2 and 4 after getting the truck back together.. unfortunately 4 didnt fix... im kinda wondering why 4 keeps going though.. Service history shows 4's had a long time issue with killing that injector for some reason.. been changed if i dont include the one i did has had 3 others in that spot...

That is an interesting rabbit hole. What would cause one particular injector to "constantly" fail? Electrical issue, mechanical issue, head flaw, etc.

So here is what I did today, overdue for some regular maintenance:
Removed tires and rotated,
Bled brakes,
Lubed caliper slide pins all the way round,
Greased new ball joints, and front u joints,
Checked the batteries, added water, cleaned terminals,
Need to go for fuel and retorque in a bit. Just 2000 more Kms and I will do oil and fuel filters.
I should wash it, but weather is already crappy, it gets dirty before it is home.
Have a good one, in the vpbeer now!
