I don't dare pop any at night. It sets the glass break sensor off.

got my head gaskets today... came with factory tty bolts and new alignment pins... and 1 oil feed pipe... think there shoulda been 2 in there even though it called it something else... there was a big hole in the box i think the other escaped out of... Wrote ED from FICM repair about it after I discovered it. just waiting to hear back now...

good thing im still waiting on other things... lol.. also a good thing i open all my "presents" when they arrive... wasnt expecting all the other stuff too that was in the box... was just thinking it was only the gaskets.. ohh well happy surprise ...

First time oil cooler

Finally did the oil cooler, STC and welded up the EGR. I tore the truck down last weekend and got it finished today. It was a busy week at work is why it took this long. That being said I probably had 10 hrs actual wrench time. Slow and easy so Id only have to do it once.LOL. Im only getting 20 lbs of boost though. Is that due to the CEL I have because of the welded EGR cooler?

got my blue spring kit and riffraff hot side CAC boots in today and installed them. Between fixing the small boost (and oil) leak and the blue spring, the truck has less turbo lag and a litle more boost. The old boot that attaches to the turbo has 2 big cracks in it and the intercooler boot didn't have any big cracks, but was still seeping oil.
That dang coolant hose was a pain to work around. Even pressing it down it as much as I could by hand, those 2 lower torx bolts were tedious.

I was in a great mood test driving my truck after doing that work, only to hit my first roadkill. I thought I hit someone's cat, only to turn around and find out it was a young coyote. Poor thing. I took a picture, but I don't think it'd be appropriate to post it.

I washed my truck today. Now that might not seem like a big deal but here in Northern California we are in a mandatory water rationing condition which really sucks for a guy like me that usually washes his cars and boats weekly.

Water the lawn only Sunday; shrubs Tuesday & Thursday. No car washing or any use of water that runs into the storm drains.

Maybe you guys in Texas and Oklahoma could send us some of your excess.

I'd love to send you some water. Several hundred million gallons at least. It was supposed to be a nice day today but it's been drizzling and cloudy all day......so tired of the rain........

Did a little work on the actual engine today... Pulled the oil pan and Rescued dads torx bit from the bottom of the pan...

and for those that never seen the underside of a 6.0... or what the pan hides lol.

hr later after playing with 3/4 gallon of cleaner...

didnt see the harm in cleaning the pickup tube since it didnt have a fiber screen like my gassers did...

cleaned up windage tray (or as ford calls it the upper oil pan)... New gasket thanks to Oreilly's... finally found them there... no thats not missed dirt on the bottom right... think at some point the tray was actually painted black...the dirt and oil crud just fell off with a little scrubbing...

bottom side with its own gasket...

I dont look forward to ever doing that again... and if it still leaks ill know its the bed plate... i wasnt going to do that one...

figured while im at it... old and new...

smilieFordlogo dealer was the only place i could find them...

cleaned off the cross member... driver side was nasty... was 1/4" thick with crud on it... when i took my sticker scraper to it - it literally curled like you see in ice cream or butter commercials...

Well, just got back from the middle of CA. Didn't end up towing anything back up. Saw up to 22 mpg and averaged 18 with them big ol' hills. I saw your guy's posts about T6 @ Kmart, and while I didn't necessarily peel out, I was able to pick up 4 gallons the next day.
