I hear ya Sean! Right at 800mi ahead of us today, been in Ohio for a couple of weeks (my Dad was ill and passed away). We have made the trip (one way) three times in the last couple weeks, twice in a lot of rain. Finally headed home to stay for awhile this time we hope. Wish I was in my 6.0 but it's been the wife's car with new tires and wiper blades and stuff both trips. Checkin out of the hotel in a few minutes. Be safe out there!

Didn't actually take it apart, just cleaned the outside. I don't know if I am completely comfortable taking the turbo apart, I'm still quite new at wrenching and $1200 is quite a screwup if I do something wrong.

Here is how things look from the outside in. It is a 4 year old reman.

Edit - also, sorry to hear about your father Rusty. Mine passed Nov 2013. Never easy. I hope you have lots of good memories, I only had sub 20 years with mine but I cherished every minute of it looking back.

Does anyone have any tips on how to get that damn rear bolt out of the passenger side uppipe to y-pipe connection? I just spent 2.5 hours trying all sorts of things and it just doesn't want to work or come out.

Frustrated, so had to walk away before I started breaking things

Are you talking about the section that connects to the EGR cooler? If so, I thought that was a nut and bolt?? It seems like I remember having to hold the nut on top with a wrench while using and impact on the bolt.... It's been a while tho...

Behind this heat shield, got the front one out. And it is the section that connects to the EGR.

It's just so tight don't know if there is a trick to the rear. And yes it is a nut and bolt style.

Appreciate any help.

Cheers,

Nate

I do in my personal truck, my fathers, and a couple of friends trucks that I take care of. I substitute 1 quart of oil with Hot Shots Secret every other oil change.

As far as what I did today, I drove it about 200 miles round trip to a disappointing VW Show & Go. I yielded avg. 15.7 mpg. Good enough for a 9500lb. truck.

So sorry to read about your Dad Rusty.

I guess the show at E Town was a bust uhh? I'm seven miles from there and saw all the Beetles going by this morning going to the bird farm to get my special mix for my birds.

Just bought my new to me e350

I just bought my new to me 2005 E350 van, off of craigslist. heres what he posted quote-
2005 Diesel Van E350 - $1000 (East Meadow)

2005 Ford E350 odometer: 150000 paint color : white fuel : diesel transmission : automatic title status : clean

2005 Diesel van E350, needs engine work, leaks oil, needs jump to start. Good van to work on if knowledge of Diesel engines.

 • do NOT contact me with unsolicited services or offers
So I went there with two jump packs and tryed to start it, but it wouldn't start. but it did crank over a little so Im a gambler and bought it, and towed it home.

I put two battery's in and it started after a min of cranking. then I saw the oil leak. it was pumping a half quart a minute out by the oil cooler housing. But I couldn't really see what was the source of the leak. so I dug in and removed intake, egr, turbo, and oil cooler housing and then reasembled it with all new gaskets from Ford, new oil change and fuel filters. started it back up and no leaks. so not a bad deal and to top it off once I got it home and got the new batteries in the truck the odometer wasn't 150k it was only 125k.

Sweet deal! Have you purchased gauges yet, scan gauge II, torque app?
