bad bad dust boot for that CV joint...

new ones in...

if someone ever tells you that you need to spend $39 on the tool just to install that boot.. tell them theyre wrong... Local auto parts store has it in stock in the exhaust pipe coupler section for $4

little grease to make things happy...

if you ever need hard to find Driveline parts for your axles or driveshafts give these guys a call... theyre CS staffs great.. real friendly and very helpful... Although their sending of the tracking number department kinda sucks.. First time i ordered from them i didnt get the number till 4 days AFTER it showed up at the house... 2nd order never did get the tracking number for...

new cv joint in

all back together again...
That is one job I will NEVER do my self again.
It's a Hate,Hate relationship.
Glad you got it done and posted the photos.
You want to do mine next or should I just
pay the local drive line shop to knock it out.

Drove mine to dinner...well, after the pedal died 13 times on the highway in 50 feet, of course. So then i contemplated selling it, lighting it on fire, etc

parting your truck out and for some reason left the the engine that they tool

Should of made them put it back in for you.

But really looks like good weather for doing that type of work.

I have done those in the past,, but nowadays,,, we sell the Oreillys lifetime warranty complete driveshaft for 360+-. I do have spicer joints in my own truck,,,, but most customers are never far from Oreillys. So the lifetime one is mostly the "go to" for them. Time will tell on the quality,,, I've sold about 6-7 of them,, none back,,, yet.

believe it or not i almost thought about just buying a new one instead of rebuilding.. but was still cheaper to rebuild it.. just more of a headache.. taking the old ujoints out was giving my 20 ton press a fight.. couple of them took everything it had to get them out.. cant believe how tight they were in there...
