Technically it was a few days ago but....
1. After 3 flushes with Distilled Water the cooloing system finally looked like plain water & re-filled with 3.5 gallons of Motorcraft Gold (was just maintance NO problems)
2. changed Oil/Filter & switched to Rotella T6 as recommended

BTW:
How come my owners manual says 5w40 is acceptable but the 15w40 is recommended for Towing
You guys are Towing with the 5w40 right

Nope, I run 15W40 syntheic blend year round....including towing the 5th wheel (12k pounds). As far as why Ford reconmends 15W40 towing...not sure. The engine should be good and warm when your towing...thus the either oil would behave the same. In this case, as a 40 weight.

Well I picked up the Rotella T6 for a oil change. I will do that tomorrow .
For some reason I don't like the idea of deep fried fingers from that hot oil
going to wait till it cools over night then warm it up a bit.
What is every one paying for the T6 per gal? Waldos 21.99
Thanks
Sean
