i just watched a YouTube video on using a ratchet strap to pull the Y pipe tight against the turbo. I will try that this weekend. But, looking at my gap, it doesn't look like I'm far off from getting the Y pipe seated against the turbo. But, I obviously have a leak so I'll try the ratchet strap.

Well that went pretty smooth this am. Took about an hour to fix my leaks, found another one while I was at it. I loosened the drivers side bolts on the manifold, loosened the y pipe clamp till I could move the Y pipe by hand and used the ratchet strap, super easy. Just drop the hook in the Y of the pipe and hook it to the rad support on the right side. Tightened the clamp and knew it was better right away. Take note of the threads showing on the clamp before you start and once it goes into place there will be 1/4 inch more showing when tight. A gentle tap , and I mean gentle on the band of the exhaust will help it seat better, it is the vibration not the force that helps. Got 3 more full turns on both exhaust after tapping the clamps. I used a soup can , some tape for a seal and a fitting to put air into the tail pipe to leak check it once I was done. This was how I found me second leak at the exhaust pipe itself. Road tested and no more air leak sound or stink in the cab. Here is a couple pics to add note.

Added one of those deezee soft open tailgate kits. Nice not having to need both hands to open the tailgate now.

big achievement today, didn't total the beast.
had a mate behind me in his Audi so was tanking on. took the 40mph hill to the house at 70, there's a 4-vehicle accident behind a blind bend - police, recovery, everything. lock up the wheels, no oncoming traffic so off the brakes pull out and get past. police not happy - rightly so - but get to live another day

Swapped out the lift springs with no blocks for OEM springs and factory 2" blocks. It lowered the rear by 1.5" and rides a lot better. The truck sits exactly level now with the front 2.5" spacer. I plan to lower the front down so it has about 2" of rake.

Thanks John.

I am done with anything at O'Reilly. They have to order the part
and the people at the store can't do it without the manager to ok it
and he won't be in until Tuesday. Just stupid.

I took the old girl on her first decent trip towing the sleds, 300 mile round trip , worked awesome, no more exhaust leak or stink in the cab and I am thrilled with the fuel mileage it delivered. Didn't know the trailer was back there at all. Becoming a bigger 6.0 fan after every drive.

Got the tire switched over to the new rim and bolted it into its riteful place. Lil duallys happy to not have the spare anymore. Thank you Bill for the help getting the new one.

After getting it on i did another driveway alignment. Tired of this cocked steering wheel crap everytime i do something in the suspension. But guess that just shows how worn out the other stuff was.

Looks nice. Now you have to buff the other three out and re-clearcoat. Yes I know more WORK.
or you can just drive and find a mud puddle and go splashing in it.

i buff them out in the spring... usually holds up for awhile...

im sure shell find some mud... the gravel driveway at the other house is quickly turning into a dirt road... when it rains it becomes a muddy mess...
