1993 Ford-F-350 460 oil?

I think Ford reccomends 10w-30 or 5w-30. Can I safely run a 15w-40 in the 460. I get my oil in bulk John Deere 15w-40 for the farm so it would be easier just to use that one oil in everything. Thanks

We have a 460 in our 95 F350. It is a flat tappet cam and requires oils with the zinc di-chromate additive.

Check out the following link.
