Cool 92 inline 6 wont start for anything

I parked it one night and the next morning I went to start it and it will crank but not start. I sprayed ether in the air intake and it started right up but would only stay running if I had the pedal floored. I checked the spark and it was good. Both tanks are coming on. I hooked fuel pressure gauge up and its reading 55 with the key turned. I changed the fuel pressure regulator, fuel filter, air flow sensor, and injectors. And still it wont start. I checked the timing and its good. I put fuel treatment in the gas and still nothing. Checked all my relays and fuses and theyre good. Then I realized my file pumps weren't shutting off with the key turned. So now can someone please help with what is going on. I'm going crazy

This is just a guess, but have you checked the throttle position sensor?

I replaced that a while ago but that wouldn't explain why the fuel pump keeps priming.

There was a post similar to what you've got going on a couple of months ago.

Don't get bored and skim over it....there's some really good info in there for you.

Be sure to read the "how to repair your ecu/computer" link.
It may save you some dough.

Good Luck !!!

Bob

Yea I'm wondering if it may be the ecm. Do they just quit like that? Now that I remember it was idling crappy. Kinda sounding like it wanted to die but with alitle press on the pedal back to normal. Never would die.

Well then, let me "spoon feed you" what you need to check.

CLICK ON THIS LINK:A9x ECM's (and same years ECM's) Failures Due to Age

AND PAY ATTENTION TO THIS:"What you see is the typical electrolytic capacitors leak, causing intermittent shorts/opens to the neighboring circuits/components and symptoms as the ones explained. Worst case scenarios with this type of failure, is a permanent no start and permanent damage to the PWB"

Unless you're independently wealthy and can throw unlimited cash at your truck, I'd suggest you check your 20+ year old ecm that has probably seen better days.

Good enough ?????

Bob
