heater core fubard

hey guys. so i tried searching but couldnt really come up with much. my problem is that lately ive been smelling collant in the cab and the last 2 days its fogging the crap outta my windows. theres fluid all over my floor so im assuming my heater core is broken. but the other issiue is my battery keeps draining, i see there alot of wiring under there. could this leaking core be causing a short and draining my battery? its been dead every morning and after work for the last week now its getting very annoying.

how does this core come out?

If it's similar to my 89 and 90, removed the glovebox door. Remove 10-12 bolts around the cover. Remove the hoses in the engine compartment and wiggle the core out from under the dash.
