Question Engine Swap 87 Ranger Questions

I have a 1987 Ranger with the 2.0 engine that needs rebuilt in it,
I also have a 1979 Mustang 2.3 engine that needs rebuilt also.
My 1st question is since they both are carb engines and have Manual fuel pumps can I put the 2.3 in place of the 2.0?
2nd question can I use the 2.3 head and intake so I can have a 2 barrel carb or do I have to use the 2.0 head and intake?
I know the oil pans are different and I will use the 2.0 one on the 2.3.

Is there anything else I need to know?

Thanks
