Either way it is absolutly INSANE to pay this much. We have a refinery less than 100 miles away and still have to take it in the rear!

Gotcha... there are companies that will help subsidize the fuel cost for their owner-operators. The drivers pay what we pay on the road, then the company they drive for reimburses them the difference.

Proof the prices are all set, it has little to nothing to do with supply and demand in reality...

The way I understand it in the refining process there Is
X amount of diesel, x amount of gasoline, x amount of petuleum
Product for other uses. From what I understand they just can't take a barrel of
Crude oil and turn it into any 1 product. As the hydro carbons
Raise in the refining tower they are pulled off and turned into
Different products. But yes we are getting bent over with out any lube. If big companies only pay 1.25 a gallon then it's the biggest cover up since roswell

you think prices are high now, just wait until the government stops giving the tax breaks that they give the oil companies now. My question is, why does a company making billions in profit per quarter need tax breaks? My diesel will sit until needed and the small 4 cylinder honda will be on the road. I feel communistic.

All the oil produced here is put on the international market. Our land, our oil and we don't get to use it. Soon the price will be so high nobody will be able to go to the polls to vote, like it matters anyway. They are all corrupt, the guy at the top does what he is told to do or else. The blame? Oil companies and wall street.

Try 5.11

It is higher in other countries. I still drive the truck everyday. Annual fuel budget starts at 4800. It is still cheaper than buying a new car.

Yup. It's all natural capitalist processes. Differences in prices ensure that products find their way to those who need them most. Higher prices create a greater incentive for production.

Finally got around to registering and what's a better way to start than complaining about diesel prices...

The diesel prices have gone up $1.24 USD per gallon since new year's eve so that we currently pay $8.00 USD per gallon over here in Finland and there's even talks of raising the bar to $8.95. If that happens, then the diesel prices have more than doubled over here in just a few short years! I guess there's no need to say that the trucking industry is currently in huge difficulties and that's without the newest proposal to increase the diesel prices... And like that wouldn't be enough by itself, there's also an additional Diesel Tax for all diesel powered vehicles that can be from slightly less than a hundred bucks to thousands of bucks a year regardless if you drive your car/truck or not.

Sorry for the borderline OT (i.e. not U.S. related), but I thought you might find this tidbit of information interesting... That and it felt good to let of some steam!

P.S. The F350 is my daily driver...
