timing is really getting me upset

i have a 95 f350 7.5L 4x4 5 speed that cuts out about 2500 rpm. i pulled the spout and timed it at 10 degrees plug the spout back in timing jumps up to 30 degrees ok i move distributor till motor smoothes out and runs good but then it cranks hard like timing is way off. so i move distributor so it cranks easy and it just runs like total crap. now a little bit about the truck iv been after this truck for 10 yrs or so my buddy hit a pole with it and it sat for 2 yrs before he sold it to me last summer. i got on the road again after fixing and replaceing alot of stuff but it started cutting out about 2500 rpms the motor went bad so i replaced it and it still cuts out and now it cranks hard i have replaced the timing set, distributor, map sensor, coil, ignition module, basically everything electronic except the computer. am looking for any opinions on what i can do next im litterally stumped on this and its driving me nuts thanks in advance josh

Why would you do something stupid like that in the first place? Remove the SPOUT, set the base timing to 10 degrees, re-install the SPOUT, then leave it alone.

Have you checked for codes?

Have you verified the fuel pressure? Fuel filter?

I think somewhere in this story you replaced the entire engine? I assume you used new plugs/wires/cap&rotor?

Was this a new engine?

You can't move the distributor after installing the spout. The computer will continue to readjust it as you move it, just screwing it up more.

your making me feel special i do know whats going on

yes i did that remove spout adjust timing replace spout runs good but hard cranking like timing is off i was only moving distributor cause im out of ideas. fuel pump is new pressure is good new filter new plugs wires cap and rotor engine was used and ran good. i havent checked for codes it acts like timing is off but its not i even pulled timing cover back off to check timing marks and they line up perfectly it started the cutting out on the other motor before i put this one in its not a mechanical problem it seems to be an electrical problem there is no emissions left on the motor because i have removed or capped it off

Define "pressure is good". The engine should not be hard to crank if you had set the timing at 10 degrees BTDC with the SPOUT out. Have you confirmed the harmonic balancer has not slipped? Not the first time the outer ring on the balancer has slipped.

fuel pressure 40 psi and yes i have verified the balancer has not slipped i put it on zero top dead center and the piston was all the way up and i tried setting it by ear and it will run good but crank hard and wont turn over fast enough to start and yes battery is new. im at a loss on this one. and the only thing i havent replaced is the computer as far as anything dealing with the electronics i do appreciate your info any advice is good

40 PSI at idle with the fuel pressure regulator vacuum hose on or off? That is a bit high for having the hose on. Should be in the mid-30s. 40+ with the vacuum hose off. Those readings should be maintained under load.

If you still have a starting issue with the base timing at 10 degrees then you need to look at the battery, cables, connectors and grounds. Add in the starter as well.

Those are normal readings. That is why I refer to the base timing w/SPOUT out value.

i was wandering about starter but it worked fine before i changed motor so it should still be fine but at $120 for a starter ouch but might just get one it worth a shot at this point and pressure was around 35 to 40 with vacumn hose on ive racked my brain so much on this its getting to me and im second guessing everything but i know what i have done is done right and this has to be something simple im just missing something
