how do you drop the rear seat?
Yes, I am that stupid.....
Truck is in sig. I know there is a latch on the passenger side to release the backrest, but the seat doesn't seem to wanna fold flat. It would seem the bench portion would have to adjust/move to do so. Does it? Otherwise I don't see the point in having the latch for the rear seat since it doesn't come close to lowering flush.

The back has a latch on the passenger side. I forget about the bottom but in my 86 I don't think it has any latch.
The one time I folded it down it didn't sit 100% flat. I just assumed there was some crap in the way. If it doesn't fold all the way down I'm going to make it fold all the way down...
That's one of the bigger reasons I got the Super Cab, I want to have my dogs in the cab without jumping all over me. So the fold flat floor is nice. I was thinking I was going to have to pull the seat and make something. I'm probably going to try and keep a carpet runner or something like that to put down so they're not tripping over the gap.

Ha! OK, figured it out. The answer is to man the hell up and pull! The lower portion flips completely upside-down when you grab it from the back, then you pop the latch for the back and lower it.
I had tried yanking on the bottom a few days ago, but I guess I was being too gentle. Probably the first time the thing has been flipped over in the truck's life ever.
Very cool! Now I have a nice flat spot to throw the tool box n whatnot.

Thanks!!! I'm glad to see I'm not the only dog lover on here!!!!
On my carpet I made it about 2 inches wider (front to back) I let the extra hang over the back of the seat back, so when I put the back down it captures the carpet between the seat back and the back wall of the cab.. So no slipping and sliding that way, of course the rubber backing on the carpet helps too... LOL
