I bought a set for $50, spent $50 at machine shop and now they run like a champ
All the machine shops here charge like $65 *just* to hot-tank/clean the heads
It stinks. Plus, none of the shops locally will do non "stock" work (so no bowl blending/porting). Just to have a Jeep 4.0L cylinder head rebuilt (cleaned, valve job, valve seals) cost me over $200!
I gave my local machine shop 3 sets so I would have a credit. Got there and he had been fired and so I dropped them off anyway. That was now 4 yrs ago and I still haven't met the new machinist.... Only one set was D0ve the other two were newer '75 sets. They were taking up space
