Cab lights ?

Have any of you had your cab lights to leak before ? I think mine are on the '97 I just got. The night we brought it home on the roll back it was pouring rain and there was water dripping from the interior trim across the top of the windshield. Not sure if it's the cab lights or the windshield.

It has been known to on an occasion. It is pretty easy to find the water marks though under the cab lights as compared to the seal around the window! Pop one off and share what you find!

Mine was dripping on the 4x4 shifter and the pass. side floor. I figured it to be the lights more than the windshield. I'm gonna go out there in a little while and pull em off and see if I can tell where they have leaked and seal em up. I wanna get it out of my shop cause I gotta pull the trans on my Ranger, but I don't wanna leave it outside leaking.

Went out and pulled off all the cab lights, but couldn't really say if they were leaking or not. I'll do a water test one day when it warms up, it's snowing right now.

Go buy yourself new gaskets from your Ford dealer. They are about $5 each.

I had the same problem and found that the windsheild was leaking. Take the trim off on the inside at the top of the windsheild and take it for a burn. Found it was bubbling in right in the center.

Took the time to sand blast the outside fill, prime and paint to match this weekend. I have aslo ordered new cab lights as the previous owner had broke a couple in the under ground.

New windshield is going in this week. Hoping to have a dry cab.

The other place to check may be the top corners of the cab where the body seam is. One of mine may have been leaking there.

Good luck!

Gonna order the new gaskets tomorrow and the windshield is cracked so I'm gonna go ahead and have one put in. There is some rust at the top corners of the windshield so I might take it out myself, sand and paint, then have a new one put in.

Thanks guys!!!

For that price I would put an extra $2 a light in it and get new lights. NAPA sells them for about $7 a piece.

Those are pretty cool. This truck is a low budget project though. I picked it up cheap with a bad trans and I'm just gonna use it for a work truck. It looks kinda rough. Puttin nice stuff like those lights on it would be like puttin lipstick on a pig !

Maybe on my crw cab project though!

Don't want to hijack, but I've got some rust around the windshield I'd like to address this spring. How big of a pain in the **** is it to take that windshield trim out without munching it?
