Semi gloss black, but the paint wasn't heat resistant, burned off within weeks. When vehicles were new, you could smell the paint being burned off.

One cluck came to the parts counter, wanted to know where his "new car interior smell" was coming from. I went out and sat in the pile, closed the door: BURNING EXHAUST MANIFOLD PAINT!

It seems to me that back in the day one could buy spray cans of new car odor to spray into your old car to give it that new car smell!

I recommend high temp Bar B Q grill paint; does well on headers and even better on exhaust manifolds. Highest engine paint over counter I've found was 1500`.

That's correct, but it didn't smell like burning exhaust manifold paint!
