help
i have a 79 f150 with the 351m/400. which from what i under stand the bottom end is a 400 block with 351 heads. i am in the middle of geting the parts for a few upgades to the motor. i have a new crank and double roller timing set and new cam i will add the info on the cam later if need be. but i am upgrading the power the last thing i need is to get rid of the junk 2bbl stock crab. i know in order to use my cam and get the power like i want i have to use at lest a 650 to 750 carb. i love holly carbs, but the issue now i am having is the fact i can not find a 4bbl intake for my play toy. i found the part to change it from 2bbl to 4bbl for like 90 bucks. but i was told the valves would not work the lifters i have the set to match the cam. if anyone has any ideas or info on the motor because when i am done the motor is going to be some where around a 408 thats with out the new cam. with the cam i am looking at about 443 stoker. the block has been punched out 40 over. i am trying to reuse the old valves because they are still good and the guy that does my block and head work is layed up for awhile and can not port my heads to hold the 202 valves that i want to add at a later date. plus i am adding a high psi oil pump to when i do this. if any one has any info where to find a intake for it and if there is any other heads that can be used other then the 400 heads that i have that i am puting the new valves i would be great full thank you for your time

I just installed an Edelbrock 4bbl intake and a "Quick fuel technologies, Slayer series" 650 cfm 4bbl carb on my 360. this is the 2nd one of these carbs I have bought recently. The first one I put on a 302 in my 62 Ford sedan delivery. I bought the first one based on a recommendation of my mechanic who said he used to use ONLY Holley until a few years ago he tried one of these and has bought nothing else since then.
The second one I bought because I loved it on my 302. Take it out of the box and hook it up and NO tuning at all not even idle on my 302. No regulators and no adjustment necessary. I just finished installing on my 360 73 F250 CC today and I still have to work on the timing a little but fired right up and runs good. I MAY have my mechanic do a little tuning on it ONLY because my goal is not power but increased fuel economy over the worn out MC 2bbl. These carbs are great and only $310 shipped on Amazon. I doubt I will ever buy another brand beside a QFT Slayer carb.
