New pedestal and a new oil leak

Two weeks ago I replaced my ebpv ped with a new non-ebpv one. Recently developed a leak that is coming down the rear of both heads, meeting at the trans insp cover and onto the ground. Check the turbo to ped and it's dry. Ped looks dry but I fear it's leaking where the ped goes to the block. I put new vitrion o rings and cleaned it up real good. Are these prone to leaking or seeping outright? Seems to leak as its cooling down after driving. Man I don't want to take all that apart again?

What did you torque the pedestal down to? If you pinched one of the o-rings, then it may be leaking.

18 ft lbs. I was real careful....I thought....when I put it on. Can't imagine I pinched the o ring cause the ped is so light compared to the turbo. May try a put a box end wrench on the rear bolts and give them a little more torque.

It could be that when you put the pedestal on the block, you rolled an 0-ring. This will happen if you don't come straight down with the pedestal. Same thing can happen when you put the turbo back on the pedestal.

Take the spider off and get a good look where the oil is coming from.

Ok. Just picked up some new hpop lines yesterday so I panned on washing it down real good after that. I did notice the intake inner edges are wet on both sides. I wonder if something else may be leaking and running down and off the rear of the heads.

Plus it went 7 days and three hundred miles after I installed everything before it started leaking....if it is the ped.

Not from drivers side. Ebpv was leaking before which is why I deleted it. It's just puzzling why, if it is the pedestal to block, that it lasted for 7 days and 300 miles.

Thinking now though the passenger side was leaking and still is. I thought it was the ebpv pedestal. Maybe it wasn't. ?

Pull it, check it, new O rings, re-install.

BTW, I have used thicker, oversized O rings in the past, sometimes the stock ones barely rise above the seat cut in the pedestal and will not provide a good seal between the pedestal and turbo and can leak again over time.

Thought about that. When I went to install it I thought they were shallow on the block...dang it!

Does Bob sell the oversized o rings?

UPDATE:

Washed top of valley and looked for source of my leak. Snugged down my Hpx it make sure it was not that... Im in Dallas and the weather has warmed significantly especially over night. Now the leak has slowed almost to nothing. I assume the pedestal to block is more suseptable to temp changes since thats what slowed/accelerated my EBPV leak. Any thoughts from the group?

Also does anyone have any info on the oversized o-rings mentioned in the earlier reply?
