Now I Like the Running Boards

Been wanting to put LED's on the running boards for a long time and finally did it. Been wanting to put pictures on here a long time. See ya can teach an ol' Bastado new tricks! CB is next. And figured out a way to mount it with out giving up leg room because it's going on the center console.

I used a 3/4" round LED, sealed. Got them off ebay. The lip to the back part of the running boards, OEM, are about 2". I was careful about the placement of each light. Each have a bult in rubber gromet that made a tight fit. (3/4 drill bit) But truthfully that was the easy part. Then I had to build a wiring harness and tapped into the LED of the sidemarker light of the back fender. Now that I'm older, things don't move like they used too. Crawling around under a truck is not as much fun as it used to be. Hahahahahaha

Nice job! I'm looking hard at those 3/4" single LED's as well. I really want smoked lenses with amber lights. Nobody makes them. I think combined with smoked roof cab lights and smoked mirror lights on my black truck, it woul look great. I can't find smoked thin line LED bars. Horsecop, you may have pushed me over the edge. Nice truck.

Quick note off subject. Finally got the CB mount made. Try to pull up my garage. I posted pics on there. I did it this way because I had the radio. But if you don't I heard the all in one hand held is really trick. Made by Cobra. Thanks guys for the comps. It's really appreciated. Good to be back here.

Hey HorseCop....

They look awesome. Can you take some up close pics for us to see. I'd love to do that on my 08 KR. White on ends and amber down side? My O8 has no lights at all on running boards. Love the look of this. If I put white on the ends, could hook them to the door/interior lights....
Amber to running lights.
Just put cab clearance lights on 2 weeeks ago.

3/4 led's

I put seven of the LED's on the running boards. Put one at each end of the chrome part of the foot boards, then measured out the rest evenly. The back lip is approx 2". Measured one inch down and used a 3/4" self starting bit.
