it shure would help folks out thats for shure I dont think they relize what the wrong combo does

my vote was left OEM

FWIW a Taller Cap with a Taller filter might be ok

Its just when they get on here and Read Dont use anything besides OEM Filters they change the filter to OEM but leave the Taller Cap cause they dont relize the Drain in the bottom of the housing

This Ford 6.0 is the only vehicle Iv ever Owned that you just change the Filter Element Every other Auto Iv owned you get the oil filter with the metal housing pretty hard to screw the Old School stuff up

Whats the Billet cap???? Chrome or ?????? is it the one guys use for a Pressure sensor

Yes, I believe the billet cap can be tapped for an oil pressure gauge, or an oil temp gauge....

yes Billet is made of alluminum and looks great under the hood ..I have a billet fuel filter cap and will be switching to billet on my next oil change also ...I am not 100 percent about the oil cap made by billet but the fuel cap does have an allen wrench screw in center and if i am not mistakin it can be used for a pressure reading ,...

Billet is a term describing the metal (and can be used describing materials other than aluminum, for example steel). It simply means a bar or ingot.

A part made from billet aluminium in this context, means the part was machined from a single piece of metal. It’s pretty much the most expensive way to form a part (vs forging for example).

In fact, billet aluminum can actually be an alloy.

6061 T6 billet aluminum is a high quality metal that is an alloy of aluminum, magnesium, and silicon.

Billet is a fancy term for chunk. (less than 36 sq in in surface area). It differs from an ingot in that it is rolled or drawn after casting to relieve internal stress, remove any voids, and get it to the desired size.

An ingot is also a fancy word for a chunk isn't it? You can still call a rolled and stress relieved chunk an ingot can't you? (asking not challenging) edit - probably not looking at wikipedia ....

btw - I didn't know that the term billet also meant that it had been rolled and drawn - thanks.

Sorry - I am just a curious type ............ Just wanted folks to know that billet could be a number of materials and that it was not a manufacturer.

Both those statements are 100% true.
