Bought some 33's
So I bought a set of FIVE 33x12.5x15 BFG A/T's off of a guy over Craigslist for only $140
However, 3 of the tires have been patched. And the fifth tire is nearly bald on the inside edge (alignment issues from previous owner?) All have weather checking.
Here's some pictures from the top tire on down:
(Orange flagged tires have patches)
First tire 3/8" tread/good condition
Second tire 3/8" tread/good condition
Third little less than 1/8" tread/okay condition
Fourth about 1/16" tread/fair condition
Fifth 1/4" tread/fair-poor condition, nearly bald going towards inside edge. Use as the spare?
I think I'll use the First 2 tires for the front as they're in very good condition, then I shouldn't have a front end shake from unevenly worn tires, etc.
And I'm thinking I'll use the 3rd and 4th tires for the rear, and the last as the spare.
Did I get a good deal do you guys think?
They aren't GREAT, but I couldn't pass them up for the price.
P.S. These will be my SUMMER set of tires, so I can take the Winter set off. So the amount of tread, etc. isn't too important.

My truck has the factory ford Alcoa's with 33x12.50's and the factory 7.5" wide rim is too narrow. Sucking in a 12.5 wide tire to 7.5" at the bead bows the tread and slightly oblongs the tire making for a really bad vibration at anything over 60 mph. At 70 it sounds and feels like one of the wheels is trying to fly off the truck. Atleast that has been my experience with my truck. The previous owner put a lift and 33's on it. According to the 3 tire shops I had look at it a 33x12.50 should have never been mounted on a 7.5" rim. I am currently looking for 16x8's and 285's.

If I was buying a brand new set of 33's on the other hand, I would most likely get a wider set of wheels so the tires wear evenly. But since these were cheap, I really don't care to put a lot of $$$ into making them work.

The rubbing isn't THAT bad, but it is noticeable. After I had them mounted this morning, the front tires were rubbing on the corners of the front bumper so I spaced it out with some longer bolts and washers.
The rubbing on the radius arms only seems to occur on sharp turns, otherwise if they clear just fine.
Thanks!
Body work and paint is yet to come...
