Yea, you know you're in Rural America when an announcement like this one shows up in your monthly town flyer.

This is for real, it came out just today in our flyer.

I wonder if I can order the t-shirt online??

Not a single thing. It's just you don't see things like that in the city mags. This was second page, 1/8 page ad.

Down home and personal, that's us!! Only in Podunk.

(I still want the t-shirt)

You know, I forgot what the citizens are like in a small town. I lived in a tiny town called Andersonville Tn for a long time. Everyone had a gun and cared for their neighbor. Then I moved to knoxville. Everyone still has a gun but hates their neighbors. Around here you could rob a bank and people would just watch.

We have a small town here in OK called Boynton. When you drive through town it might be 1 city blk long and then your out of town again. The police station is a small tin portable bldg. I am talking about the kind people have in their backyard for storage like a 10'x10' if that. City hall is right next door and it is a bldg just like the police station.

I tried to find a picture of the kind of storage bldg they have for their police station and city hall , but , all the pictures I found on a google search were way too nice.
