3.03 3 speed tranny ID

Vehicle is a 1967 F100, 240 ci Column shift. No warranty tag as door was replaced. Did the search thing to no avail. Trans Tag ID plate has:RAN E 1
then: K017411 Can someone tell me which version this is and where I can get a QUALITY rebuild kit for this particular model? NAPA seems to be having difficulty even coming up with seals for it, and Im thinking a rebuild would probably be smarter.
Would like to keep it original, and also need shift linkages/Shifter arms for the column shift, as someone did the floor conversion with a cheap, made in China shifter.

NAPA will have all the parts except for the shift rods/manual control levers (I'll look for those parts, type the info in a separate post).

NAPA may not have the parts listed on their computer, so tell the partscluck to look in his/her paper parts catalog, usually stashed under the counter.

RAN-E (trans ID: C5TZ-7003-A) Ford type 3.03 3 Speed all Syncromesh Light Duty Manual Transmission / Original application: 1967 F100 240 I-6 114" wheelbase.

Here's some help with the two seals, gasket set and the two bearings. Note the car apps, will make it easier when dealing with the partscluck.

D9BZ-7052-A (replaced C4TZ-7052-A) .. Extension Housing Seal / 1 1/2" I.D. / 2 3/8" O.D. / 1/2" wide / Newer apps: All 1972/78 3.03 Passenger Cars / 1977/82 Passenger Car, E/F100/150 'RUG' SR-OD 4 speed O/D.

B7AZ-7A283-B (replaced B7AZ-7A283-A) .. Input Shaft Seal / 1 1/8" I.D. / 1 5/8" O.D. / Older apps: 1957/60 Ford/Thunderbird T-86 / 1963/68 3.03 Passenger Cars.

C3AZ-7153-F .. 3.03 Gasket Set / 1963/86 all Passenger Cars / 1963/83 F100/250 / 1965/86 E100/150 / 1966/77 Bronco / 1975/86 F150.

The bearings have BIN's stamped on them. Bearing Industry Numbers, what autoparts stores, bearing shops go by.

C3AZ-7025-B .. 3.03 Input Shaft Bearing / BIN: 207L or 207LO / Myriad 1963/86 FoMoCo vehicles.

C3AZ-7025-C .. 3.03 Output Shaft Bearing / BIN: 1828-V-74-1 / Myriad 1963/86 FoMoCo vehicles.

Both these bearings were also used in the 1963/79 Ford 4 speed toploader.

You will also need (1) 1st gear syncro brass blocker ring, (2) 2-3 syncro brass blocker rings (all 3-C4AZ-7017-D same), 3 shoes for each and a small parts kit (snap rings/washers). Common to all 1963/86 3.03's.

I purchased my kit from Autozone. You just had to know if all 3 synchros were the same size or if there were two different sizes. Mine was a RATxxx though.

Still looking

Thanks so much for the info. I'm trying to find the syncros and shoes now. Getting the right linkage and arms should be interesting. Are they all the same from 1963 on?

No, 1965/72 for the column selector levers. The shift rods, as I recall, are 1967/69 F100 2WD only.
Unless the syncro's themselves are badly worn, all you need are the brass syncro blocker rings and the 3 shoes.

The shoes are different with 1st gear syncro vs 2-3 syncro. The blocker rings are all the same.

3) C4AZ-7107-D .. Blocker Ring, 36 teeth, 3 slots.

3) C3AZ-7A044-A .. 2-3 Syncro Shoe.

3) C3AZ-7A044-B .. 1st Gear Syncro Shoe / Obsolete

Shoes: Myriad 1963/86 3.03 Passenger Car/F100/250 / 1965/86 Econoline / 1966/77 Bronco / 1975/86 F150.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1) C5TZ-7302-C .. 2-3 Manual Control Selector Lever / 1965/72 F100/250 / Obsolete

No Ford Dealer or obsolete parts vendor has any.
-----------------------------------------------
1) C5TZ-7303-B .. 1st/Reverse Manual Control Selector Lever / 1965/72 F100/250.

6 available NOS.

No one has the shift rods. I've searched for them before with zero results. IMO, find a 1967/69 F100 2WD w/3 on the tree, get all the shift linkage related parts from it.

If you lived here in L/A (LA LA Land-Los Angeles) instead of LA (Sportsmans Paradise, Kingfish, Mardi Gras, Billy the Exterminator ), you'd prolly have no trouble finding a truck with these parts.

No rust here, so old rolling piles of misery last much longer, are somewhat EZ to find. Contact FTE member gangstakr, he's a scrounger, can usually come up the parts peeps want.
