There's not going to be one source, but dozens, because most of the parts are obsolete. It all depends on what you're looking for....which is?

The 1980/89 Ford HEAVY Truck Parts Catalog is available on a CD from hipoparts.com.

You have to be more specific than just saying body parts, there are 100's of them!

I have to look up each part number individually, then type it into the Ford Dealer website to see if it's available...or not.

If available, will list the part number, MSRP and FTE member discount prices. If obsolete, type the part number into two website to see if anyone has any.

If found, I'll list the part number, sources/phone numbers. And this rigamarole is just for ONE part number!

The same process has to be repeated over and over again for each part number. This takes time, so I need to know exactly what parts you need.

The alternative is...going to a dealer and I know what they'll say the second you mention the year: Obsolete! Whether the part is...or not, because...

Most partspeeps in today's world don't wanna mess with older vehicle, so they just "shine you on!"

I am based here in Iroquois, ON, Canada... Just looking for doors and quarter fenders, grill and last but not least cab corners!

However, the truck is in really good shape but the cab does need some work!

Thanks for all the help!

Those trucks were really popular over there on the east coast, should be pretty easy to find parts trucks, or just parts..

"Quarter" fenders is another name for pickup bed panels. No L8000 is a pickup.

All 500 series and larger trucks are sold as Cab & Chassis. Any type of "back of cab" equipment is supplied by the body maker.

f 8000 drum studs?

Hello,
I believe number dummy is the person i need to ask but whoever can help, please help. I have a 1990 F8000 and a 1993 F9000 and find it very hard to find parts. I have people working on them at a garage but they are having trouble as well so I may not get the part names exact but will do my best. I first need for the f8000 drum studs and nuts. I guess the drums have studs that hold them on and they are "turning or spinning" in the holes and he cant get them out to replace the drums and brakes. these are the front tires. I need them for both front tires. The drivers seat also continually leaks air so I need the air cushion I guess to replace. Thats the most important. My email is devlenf@gmail, please help asap. I have been broken down for q month now. These trucks were truned into septic trucks so they have vacuum pumps on them if anyone out there knows anything about vacuum pumps I dont and I cant find anyone around here(chattanooga, Tn) to work on them. Thanks
devlen

The last 6 digits of the VIN is the trucks specific serial number.

Looking up parts for these BIG trucks is a real b!tch, because there are so many different combinations.

Suggest you contact FTE sponsor Tousley Ford in White Bear Lake MN for assistance (tousleyfordparts.com).

I'd like to help, but I don't know anything about these trucks. We never saw any, never worked on them in West LA

devlen, you should really consider taking your truck to another shop. The front axle is the same or atleast very similar to every other heavy trucks front axle. So, if your guy is having trouble with them he must be very new at this.. The wheel studs may be stripped out of the hub? Either way your guy should know how to cut the nuts off and pound the old studs out of the hub.

All these parts should be relatively easy to find at any big truck shop/ warehouse.

Thanks Rummur,
I did take it to another shop and they said it was bolts and not studs, so they cut some off and replaced them so we got it done,
Thanks
