This is a good picture of what you will be looking for.

Good luck.

I realize this is an old thread but its the only relevant thread I could find on the topic.

My plastic disconnect tools will not fit between the rear of the pump and the hose. The hose has the typical quick disconnect hose end with the blue tab. How the heck do you get this off? It worked for the lines at the fuel tank.

the rear of the pump AKA the intake from tank side is done differently ,

you need to push the black fitting part toward pump, push the blue tab in, it can be hard, use a screwdriver to press, and while pushing the tab pull the fitting back away from pump housing.

be ready for a fuel bath, i kept a bowl close by to catch teh flow.

PS pumps bosch ones on amazon for 80 bucks.

Carl, thanks! I did as you said and it worked. I pushed on the blue tab with a flat head screwdriver and it pulled out.

I changed the pump with the Bosch unit from Amazon you cited. SAME exact #s as OEM. Ya just need to move one fitting over from old to new pump.

Here are some side by side pics.

For those swapping pumps here is some advice based upon my first and hopefully last time changing this pump (as part of preventive maintenance). Do NOT take the 3 bolts off that hold the entire pump housing onto the frame (like this guy did:
). Its a waste of time. Just disconnect both inlet and outlet and pull the pump back and out of the housing as you pry the housing open (a 7mm? bolt clamps the housing around the pump).

I had very little fuel come out of the fuel line because I had dropped the tank to do the Hutch and Harpoon mods, but normally as Carl said, it will FLOW so have the new pump handy to press back into place immediately.

Here is the housing I refer to (I used new fuel lines as part of the Hutch Mod so you wont recognize the fuel line into the pump in this pic):

Isn't there supposed to be an o-ring on the part you moved from the old to the new pump?

It's been a while since I did one, but I thought there was an o-ring on there? (for the recent guy, not the one from 4 years ago)

Nope,no o-ring on either old or new. I just used liquid teflon tape appropriate for fuel.

I noticed the pressure at the fuel bowl is now 61 psi versus around 56/57 with the old pump...

You guys were CORRECT. I went back and check the old pump and there was indeed a copper o-ring on it. Problem was that it was all so dirty I couldnt even see it. Thanks for catching that for me!

I guess that's a testament to the quality of the Teflon paste I used.

Nonetheless looks like Ill be spilling some fuel again this weekend...uh!

glad i could help.. same pump less money,, even better now you have a spare at least and better pressure it appears as well.. win win win..

in looking at the pump housing it did appear to me to just remove the bolt that holds the wrap looking cover and pull pump out.

NOW,, where is the copper ring... pressure side i am guessing.

you screw the old bit of pipe back in and attach the existing push to lock fitting, which at pressure are cool right..

I gotta unscrew the short section on the front side of the pump and put in the o ring...or leave it as it is. The liquid Teflon sealed it!
