Best aftermarket hitch for E-350?

I'd like to add a step at the back of my E-350 to make it a bit easier getting in and out since it's so high. Thought I'd install a trailer hitch and use that to mount a step plate I'd have welded up. Then I'd still have the hitch should I ever need to use it.

Any thoughts on which after market trailer hitch is easiest to install or works the best?

Thanks!

do you have the stock step bumper?
if not look into it, it does help.

the step bumper seems to be a less common option, but i have one and i love it. my local junkyard only gets a few of them a year, but plenty of the smooth chrome ones that fit as close as possible to the body.
if you choose to add a hitch reciever, they're all about the same within any given weight rating. again, a junkyard will likely have several, or any company that thinks about towing (uhell, jc whitney, your local RV supply, etc) will have options.

I just put one on my express van and found that amazon was the cheapest. I had to do a little research first since I don't trust amazon's fitment guide.

I've noticed that to, step bumpers aren't all that common on vans.

I sure am glad mine has one, it sits up sooo damn high!

As other's have mentioned, why not get a step bumper instead? Not only do they make it easier to get in and out, they are a great place to sit. Wrecking yards and craigs list are a good placed to look.

For the trailer hitch, suggest that you get the heaviest duty that aligns with your vans towing capacity. Who knows down the road what you might want to tow, or, what a perspective buyer of your van will want to tow. Good luck, Mike

I like the option of the hitch. BUT, one thing to consider is when most people see a hitch, they immediately think of towing and the transmission. Just a thought.

I got a hitch from a salvage yard for my e150. I think I payed about $50 for it, fresh coat of paint and it was good as new.
