I've had the truck for just about a year now. I put in a new windshield, Edelbrock 4bbl 600cfm carb and Performer Intake manifold. I also did a new t-stat and housing. I have a new water pump that'll be going in before too much longer. I also had a new exhaust put in since the old muffler exploded. It now has a single Flowmaster Super 40 exiting just ahead of the pass rear tire. The exploding muffler was a bad spark, which has since been fixed with new coil and distributor cap and rotor. It has a brand new seat cover since the 40 year upholstery is in pretty rough shape. It got two new tires when I bought it since two were sun rotted.
Previous owner said it had a recent rebuild on the engine and trans, but I'm not too sure. Trans leaks from the pump output seal. Should be an easy fix, you just have to pull the trans to do it. Hence why it hasn't been done yet. Registration is due this March, so I'll be paying that shortly. I also just installed a new CD player and replaced the 40 year old speakers. The stereo will go with, but I'm keeping the sub and amp.
Camper shown in photos isn't included, but can be for a few hundred more.
Why am I selling? The 390 is a beast and is a blast to drive. I love driving this old thing. But, it gets 9-10 mpg, is 2wd and gets stuck way too easily in the sand, and I live in the sand. Plus, I want to be able to fit my family in my truck if need be, and the standard cab won't fit a wife and three kids unfortunately...
