moving the steering colomn up?

I'm not a very big guy, but is it just me or is the steering wheel reeeeeaaallly close to the seat in these trucks? I dont find it very comfortable, and I couldnt see anyone getting in there with a bit of a belly. Everything looks to be stock, has anyone ever angled theirs forward? I know I could get a smaller steering wheel,..

I never owed a uni yet! but currently have installed a late model dentside tilt automatic steering column in my 64 f100; had to modified the column bracket and removed alot of the dash column bracket to bring the column up; I also installed a f150 power steering box; the angle of the steering box really is the issue. I would believe that would also be a concern in keeping factory column and steering box as well. I purchase a universal steering joint from speedway motors to replace my rag joint as well.
Hope this gives you some though.
