Here are some of the first pictures I got of the truck when I was loading it to bring it down. I will post more when I get a chance tomorrow.

Hard to tell from the small thumbnail pictures, but it looks like an F2-F3 to me.

To post larger pictures, click on the thumbnail and then copy/paste the link.

So number on frame is 191172, Number on firewall plate is 98rc 191172, stamped into the firewall is 7rh13e6214. Wheelbase of 124 inches or 122 I guess, I measured 124. it is a five lug truck.

Hmmm.... very interesting. It has five lugs front and rear, as well as F1 fenders in the front. The rest of the truck, frame, rear fenders, running boards and bed, are all F2-F3. Cabs and hoods were the same for F1-F8 trucks. Also has a 51-52 ribbed rear bumper.

Can you see 98RC stamped on the frame in front of 191172?

9 = 1949/50
8R = 239 V8 flathead
C = 1/2 ton
191172 - production number

Some time ago recently there was another 49 or 50 (red in color) that appeared on this forum (somewhere from the midwest, I believe) that also had 5 lug wheels, F1 fenders and the rest was F2-F3 (frame, rear fenders, running boards and bed).

At first, I thought, as well as others, that the truck was converted to some F1 parts in its lifetime. However, now that a second truck shows up almost identical in the differences as the other truck, it makes me question if Ford produced a few "hybrid" models like this or was this done by the dealer?? Maybe the original owner was able to order the truck like this in order to have a larger bed???

Interesting....

Can you post pictures of the suspension in front and rear, rear end and springs?

Awesome. This would be awesome if it is actually some sort of hybrid model or conversion by the dealer. Ill talk to my wifes parents to try and get more of a history of the truck since it was her grandpa's truck. I will post some pics of suspension in a little bit.

Check the frame near the front of the bed for any welding, indicating a section added (about 8" long). Same for the driveshaft.

Edit: looking at your newest pics, it looks to me like someone grafted a second F-1 frame onto an existing F-1 frame; Doesn't seem like there should be two crossmembers here (circled). See if there is a weld on the frame between them.

Looks like you are right. I found the weld and the part where the frames are overlaping each other...

Yep, looks like someone made their own long bed F-1!

Ok. My exciting thought has been thrown out the window.

The engine isn't stock either. Looks like some was creative on mating the two frame together.
